When he is not actively participating in sports, Matthew
Baird of Stoughton
is still around the world of sports. He has always loved teaching, and Matthew
Baird of Stoughton
uses that love to work in the sport industry as an umpire and teacher. Since
high school Matthew Baird of Stoughton
has been active in the volunteer community. He has participated in the Relay
for Life Cancer Walk and has been a lifeguard at the YMCA. Matthew Baird of Stoughton has always been
a teacher at heart.
While working as a lifeguard at the YMCA while he was
attending Worchester Polytechnic Institute, Matthew Baird of Stoughton began teaching young children how
to swim. He always wanted to protect children, so teaching them to swim was a natural
fit for Matthew Baird of Stoughton.
Matthew Baird of Stoughton
began teaching them the basics of floating to save themselves if they ever fell
into the water. From there he progressed into teaching them how to swim.
During the same time Matthew Baird of Stoughton
was an umpire for the girl’s fast pitch softball team in Stoughton, MA.
Though he had never played baseball on a team during high school or college,
Matthew Baird of Stoughton
had always loved the game and knew the rules very well. Matthew Baird of Stoughton enjoyed getting
out in the field and helping out.
There has always been a shortage of people who are willing
to step up and volunteer their time to help others. Matthew Baird of Stoughton is one man who
does step up. Whether he is running a 5k to raise money for cancer research or
teaching children what to do if they fall into the water, Matthew Baird of Stoughton knows how to
use his love of sports to help out in his community. Finding a way to stay
active in the community is what drives Matthew Baird of Stoughton.
